UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — The Big Ten Network released its live broadcast schedule for the 2012 baseball and softball seasons on Thursday (Feb. 16) featuring at least seven Penn State games. Overall, the Big Ten Network will televise a minimum of 59 baseball and softball games with at least 117 games on the Big Ten Digital Network (btn.com) across all 12 teams.
The Nittany Lion baseball team will play in four games televised by the BTN starting with the Friday, Apr. 13 matchup against Michigan at Medlar Field at Lubrano Park. PSU’s visit to Target Field to play Minnesota will air Saturday, May 5 at 3:00 p.m. as well Illinois’ trip to Happy Valley on Sunday, May 13. Penn State’s regular season BTN finale at Michigan State is scheduled for Saturday, May 19 at Noon. Should the Nittany Lions return to the Big Ten Tournament for a second consecutive season, their games will once again be shown live on Big Ten Network throughout the week of May 23-27.
For the Penn State softball team, they host Minnesota on Sunday, Apr. 29 for a Noon game shown live on the network at beautiful Nittany Lion Softball Park and Beard Field. The following week, the Nittany Lions are slated for a 3:00 p.m. contest at Illinois on Sunday, May 6. When Penn State returns to the friendly confines of Beard Field, a 4:00 p.m. match-up awaits on Friday, May 11 against Ohio State to be aired live on BTN. Penn State and Ohio State will also have the chance to be on live the next day as well, if selected for a wildcard telecast.
