A minor injury was reported following a two-vehicle accident at 4 p.m. Friday along Interstate 99 at mile marker 63 southbound in Worth Township. Both a 60-year-old Patton man and Steven D. Ketcham, 49, of Altoona were traveling southbound downhill and negotiating a sweeping right-hand turn. The Patton man’s vehicle was in the right-hand lane, while the Ketcham vehicle was in the left-hand lane. As the Ketcham vehicle started to overtake the man’s vehicle along the left, it drifted across the centerline and struck the right side of the Ketcham vehicle. Upon impact, the Ketcham vehicle was forced off the roadway onto the eastern shoulder. It struck the “jersey barrier and continued to travel parallel with them around the curve, bouncing off the “jersey barrier” at least once. The Ketcham vehicle came to a rest about 200 feet down the fill with its driver’s side against the “jersey barrier.” Ketcham sustained minor injury to his leg(s), and his vehicle was towed from the scene. Both were wearing their seatbelts. The Patton man will be cited for causing the accident.
