MARTINSBURG — The Clearfield Bisons boys basketball team fell to 7-9 for the year on Tuesday night after blowing a 30-23 halftime lead.
Coming into the contest the Bison were riding a two-game win streak to pull within one game of a .500 record this late in the season for the first time in two years.
The Bisons had a balanced scoring attack on the night with seven players posting points in the box score. Senior forward Robbie Myers led the way scoring a game high 18 points while Trey Jordan posted yet another double digit scoring night with 12 points.
Central’s scoring was much the same with eight players putting up points on the night and were led by Trevor Forshey and Brandon Myers who posted scores of 15 and 13 points respectively.
The Clearfield hoopsters led for a majority of the game carrying a 45-40 lead into the game’s final stanza before only mustering seven points and surrendering twenty one points in the period to lead to a 61-52 final in Central’s favor.
The Bisons will be back in action Friday night when they take on the Tyron Golden Eagles at home in the Arthur J. Weiss Gymnasium. The Bisons fell to the Golden Eagles 72-38 previously this season.
