Ridgway Man Faces Drug, Theft Charges

RIDGWAY TOWNSHIP – A 31-year-old Ridgway man faces charges after allegedly stealing prescription medication and attempting to sell it Friday in Ridgway Township, Elk County.

The Ridgway-based state police identified the man as Joshua Smith, 31, of Ridgway. He’s been charged with manufacture, deliver, possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance, theft by unlawful taking or disposition, receiving stolen property and possession of a controlled substance.

According to the report, Smith was at a 22-year-old Ridgway woman’s apartment, where he allegedly stole the prescription medication. Through further investigation, Smith was located at the Ridgway Elks Club, attempting to sell the prescription medication in the parking lot.

Smith was taken into custody and arraigned in district court. His bail was set at $25,000 monetary. Smith was placed in the Elk County Prison.
