Born May 23, 1929, he was the son of the late John V. and Anna I. (Kalina) Kosut.
He was a member of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Osceola Mills; he was an Air Force Veteran of the Korean and Vietnam Wars; he served in the Air Force for 21 years then as a park ranger for the Moshannon State Park for 10 years until his retirement.
On April 21, 1955 in Winchester, VA, he wed the former Betty B. Kenny, who survives him at home.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and brothers John and Edward Kosut.
He is survived by his wife; sons Martin G. Kosut and his wife Lynette of Leechburg and Kenneth A. Kosut and his wife Lisa of Munson; sisters Irene Sature of Detroit, MI and Marie Jones of Philipsburg; grandchildren Joshua Kosut and his wife Crystal of Philipsburg, Lucas Kosut and his wife Jessica of Amarillo, TX, Trisha Kosut and her companion James Litzinger of Grassfalt, Brooks Kosut of Munson and four great-grandchildren.
A Mass of Christian Burial will celebrated on Feb. 1 at 9 a.m. at the Immaculate Conception Church in Osceola Mills with the Rev. Robert J. Horgass as celebrant. Burial will be at the Immaculate Conception Cemetery. Visitation will be on Tuesday from 4-8 p.m. at the Beezer-Heath Funeral Home, 719 E. Spruce St., Philipsburg. A Vigil Service will be conducted by Fr. Robert Horgas, in addition to the recitation of the Rosary, on Tuesday at 7:30 p.m. at the funeral home. Military honors will be accorded at the church following the funeral mass by members of the Moshannon Valley Independant Honor Guard.
