Sexual Assault Under Investigation in DuBois

DUBOIS – The DuBois City Police Department is investigating a reported sexual assault that occurred Tuesday evening.

According to police, the incident occurred Tuesday night at about 7:20 p.m. in the 600 block of East DuBois Avenue along the railroad tracks between Division Street and McCracken Run Road.

The alleged victim, an 18-year-old woman, reported that she was walking along the railroad tracks when she was knocked to the ground by an unknown male, and sexually assaulted. She described her assailant as a white male, about 6 feet tall, having a thin build, in his mid-20’s to mid-30’s and having short, scruffy facial hair. She said he was wearing a dark, hooded sweatshirt, a dark jacket (possibly camo) and dark pants.

She was treated at the scene by DuBois Emergency Medical Services and taken to DRMC. Police were assisted by the state police and the Sandy Township Police Department.
