George D. Keating, 82, of Clearfield, PA passed away on Jan. 18, 2012 at Mt. Laurel Nursing and Rehabilitation Center of Clearfield.
He was born on Dec. 1, 1929 in Philadelphia, PA.
Mr. Keating was Methodist by faith.
He was a veteran of the United States Army having served in the Korean Conflict.
He had retired from General Electric Corporation, where he served as Union President until becoming a Division Manager.
He enjoyed coaching little league, bowling and camping with his family.
Mr. Keating is survived by his wife Madeline H. (Renaud) Keating, of Clearfield whom he married on December 23, 1960, four children; Benita Bower and her husband Jeff, of Pittman, NJ, Denise Worthington and her husband John, of Upper Darby, PA, Kenneth Keating, of Willingboro, NJ, and Paul Keating and his wife Sue, of Landenberg, PA, nine grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Kathy Gouck.
Funeral Services will be held at Bennett and Houser Funeral Home, Inc. on Jan. 21 at 3:00 p.m. with Rev. John F. White officiating. Military Honors will be accorded at the funeral home by the Clearfield American Legion Post #6 and the VFW Post #1785 Honor Guard.
Friends will be received at the funeral home on Jan. 21 from 1:00 p.m. until the hour of the services.
