CLEARFIELD/CAMBRIA COUNTY – An Altoona man was captured on Wednesday after leading police on a chase over multiple highways and counties.
According to the state police in Clearfield, Darek Lloyd was traveling south on state Route 53. Police said he failed to stop when a traffic stop was initiated and fled at a high rate of speed through several townships in Clearfield County, at one point crossing over into Cambria County on SR 253.
Police said Lloyd then lost control of his vehicle and struck an embankment and several trees. He then fled on foot but was later captured by the state police in Ebensburg. He is now being held in Blair County Jail for a probation violation.
Numerous charges are pending.
