Obituary Notice: Patrick J. Coval Sr.

Patrick J. Coval Sr., 85 of Hawk Run, passed away Jan. 14, 2012 at Mt. Laurel Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Clearfield.

Born Jan. 25, 1926, he was the son of the late John and Anna T. (Patrick) Coval.

He was a member of the Ss. Peter & Paul Catholic Church in Hawk Run; he was a member of the Knights of Columbus and a fourth degree Knight of Pope John Paul II Assembly 952 in Clearfield and a third degree Knight of the Holy Family Council 8701 in Morrisdale; he enjoyed hunting, fishing, football and spending time with his grandchildren.

He was a sewing machine mechanic for many years with McGregor Manufacturing and McTigue Manufacturing, and had also worked for the General Cigar plant, all of Philipsburg.

On June 25, 1960 in Grassflat, he wed the former Pauline M. Danko, who preceded him in death on July 24, 2010.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, brothers John and George Coval; and sisters Mary Uhlman and Bertha Petow.

He is survived by daughter Maryann Zimmerman and her husband Thomas of Osceola Mills; sons Patrick J. “Pat” Coval Jr. and his wife Robin of Philipsburg and Anthony J. “AJ” Coval and his wife Lisa of Clearfield; sister Anna Mae Hartman of Lock Haven and Delorse Kovalchick and her husband Frank of Frederick, MD; brother Thomas Coval and his wife Patricia of Columbia, SC; and grandchildren Lindsey, Reggie and Erica Covall of Philipsburg, Kaitlin and Jenny Zimmerman of Osceola Mills, and Alex and Sydney Coval of Clearfield, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Jan. 18 at 10 a.m. at Ss. Peter & Paul Catholic Church with the Rev. Robert J. Horgas as celebrant. Burial will be at Ss. Peter & Paul Cemetery in Hawk Run.

Visitation will be held on Jan. 17 from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at the Beezer-Heath Funeral Home, 719 E. Spruce St., Philipsburg. A Vigil Service will be conducted by Fr. Robert Horgas in addition to the recitation of the Rosary at 6:30 p.m., both on Tuesday at the funeral home.
