Chester J. Materna, age 90, originally from Madera, PA. Formerly of Maple Hts Ohio and Fort McCoy, Florida. passed away on Jan. 7, 2012. Father of Gary (Diana) Materna, Daniel (Barbara) Materna, and the late David (Caron) Materna; brother of the late Joseph Materna, Michael Materna, Andrew Materna, Frank Materna, Julia Machen, Louise Suvak, Betty Suvak, and Estelle Ward. Preceded in death by former spouse and mother of their three sons, June Raleigh. Previously married to Lola Materna of Indiana. Loving grandfather, great-grandfather, and dear uncle to many. Mass of Christian Burial Saturday, January 14, 11:00 a.m. at Saint Barbara National Catholic Church, 76 Emery Avenue, Houtzdale, PA. Interment Saint Barbara Cemetery, Brisbin, PA. The family will visit with friends at the church one hour prior to Mass Saturday morning. Memorials may be made to Hospice of the Nature Coast in Florida, or Father Flanagan’s Boys Town in Boys Town, NE.
