The Cardinals got off to a fast start in the first half by topping the Tide 27-10 at the intermission leaving them with just the sixteen minutes of the second half between them and the win.
It didn’t get any better for the Curwensville squad in the second half either as DuBois Central Catholic (DCC) outscored the Tide 18-7 in the third frame and 27-9 in the final eight minutes to win going away.
All eleven Cardinal players scored on the night with junior Michael Krajewski paving the way for DCC with 17 points. Senior Danny O’Connor dumped in 15 while junior Sebastian Schenk added 10.
The Golden Tide had Brett Gardner as it’s leading scorer with 10. Tanner Elensky chipped in with seven. Both Gardner and Elensky are sophomores for the Tide.
In the junior varsity contest DCC was also victorious as they defeated the Golden Tide 42-25.
Curwensville will travel to Johnsonburg on Tuesday to smack heads with the Rams with JV action starting at 6 pm and the varsity battle to immediately follow.
