Edward Zwolski Sr., 78, of Curwensville died Monday at his residence. Born Sept. 24, 1933, he was the son of the late Walter Sr. and Agnes (Paluch) Zwolski.

Living his entire life on the same block in the south side of Curwensville, Mr. Zwolski retired in 1999 after 47 years at the Howe’s Leather Company in Curwensville, where he worked in the maintenance department. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, watching football and tending to his vegetable garden.

He married the former Delores A. Bergey, whom he adored for over 55 years on Sept. 15, 1956 at the St. Francis Catholic Church, Clearfield.

He is survived by his wife; his three children and their spouses, Edward Zwolski Jr. and his wife, Susan of Clearfield; Catherine Shope of Lock Haven; and Barbara Johnson and her husband, Michael of Grampian; five grandchildren whom he adored dearly, Amanda Creek and her husband, Bill of Curwensville; Michael Zwolski of Clearfield; Matthew Shope of Lock Haven; and Vanessa and Rebecca Johnson of Grampian; three great- grandsons who were the love of his life; Eli, Isaiah and Xavier Creek; a brother, James Zwolski and his wife, Jackie of Curwensville; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by five sisters, Helen Brzezinski, Ann Nowcien, Mary Ross, Margaret McLaughlin and Jeannette Zwolski; two brothers, Joseph and Walter Jr.; an infant sister and four infant brothers Henry, William, Walter and John.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be said at 11 a.m. Saturday at the St. Timothy Catholic Church, Curwensville with the Rev. Mark J. Mastrian as celebrant. Interment will follow in the Calvary Cemetery, Clearfield.

Friends will be received from 4 – 8 p.m. Friday and from 9 a.m. – 10 a.m. Saturday at the Kevin A. Beardsley Funeral Home, Clearfield.

The Rosary will be recited at 7:30 p.m. and followed by a Christian Vigil service at 7:45 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorial contributions be made to St. Timothy Catholic Church, 306 Walnut St., Curwensville.
