Obituary Notice: Ralph W. Phillips

Ralph W. Phillips, 87 of Osceola Mills, passed away on Jan. 2, 2012 at Mt. Laurel Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Clearfield.

Born May 5, 1924, he was the son of the late Frank and Anna (Moore) Phillips.

He was a member of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Osceola Mills; the Mt. Top Fire Company in Sandy Ridge; the Central District Fireman’s Association; and the LOO Moose in Osceola Mills. He was retired from the former Philipsburg State General Hospital as a security guard.

On June 11, 1949 in Osceola Mills, he wed Barbara (Timchak) Phillips, who survives at home.

He was preceded in death by his parents; an infant son; an infant grandson; daughter-in-law Cynthia Phillips; sister Harriet Moyer and brother Gerald Phillips.

He is survived by his wife; grandchildren Stephanie Phillips, Samantha Phillips and Ella Phillips and great-granddaughter Christina Covey; daughter Robin Phillips of Osceola Mills; son Ralph Phillips and his wife Victoria of Osceola Mills; sisters Esther Moyer of Buffalo, NY, Jacqueline Hallman of Buffalo, NY, Mildred Hill of Madera, Betty Best and her husband Robert of North Carolina, Judith Goss and her husband Robert of Buffalo, NY, Gloria Jean Howe and her husband William of Brisbin and Nancy Schindler and her husband Dale of Houtzdale; and brothers Robert Phillips and his wife Earldean of Buffalo, NY, John Phillips of Buffalo, NY and James Phillips and his wife Diane of Buffalo, NY.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Jan. 5 at 10 a.m. at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Osceola Mills, with the Rev. Father Robert Horgas officiating. Burial will be at the Immaculate Conception Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Wednesday from 5-8 p.m. at the Heath Funeral Home, Osceola Mills. The Rosary will be recited at the funeral home on Wednesday at 7:30 p.m.
