Aughenbaugh Appointed to City Council

DUBOIS – DuBois City Council has appointed sitting council member Jim Aughenbaugh to fill the extra council seat.

The potential candidates for the seat were Jim Aughenbaugh, John Bojalad and Charles “Sam” Miles.  At the previous regular council meeting they had pitched the reasons why they should fill the seat.  There were two seats up for grabs in the last election, council member Edward Walsh had won both seats.  Both Bojalad and Miles had lost to Walsh and council member Diane Bernardo for one of the seats.

Council members Randy Schmidt and Edward Walsh voted to appoint Aughenbaugh, along with Mayor Gary Gilbert.  Aughenbaugh abstained, Bernardo had been excused from the meeting.

“All three candidates are very good, but … just my view point just from working with Jim the last two years I’d like to nominate him,” said Walsh.
