John R. Brady

John R. Brady, 77, of Manassas, VA passed away on Dec. 21, 2011 at Prince William Hospital, Manassas, VA.

He was born April 24, 1934, in Mahaffey, PA the son of John W. and Marie E. (Young) Brady.

Mr. Brady retired as a Specialist 5 in 1973 after 20 years in the United States Army having served during the Korean Conflict and the Vietnam Era. He also retired from the United States Postal Service in Fairfax, VA.

Mr. Brady enjoyed dirt track racing.

He is survived by his two sons; John Brady and Jerry Brady, of Poitou Charentes, France, five grandchildren; Kareen Brady and her husband Mario Hernandez of Heidelberg, Germany, Elise Adbelsadok and her husband Brahim, of Poitou Charentes, France, Jimmy Brady, Mike Brady, Julie Brady all of Poitou Charentes, France, four great grandchildren; Emma Hernandez, Assya Abdelsadok, Nassim Abdelsadok and James Brady and three brothers and two sisters; Charles W. “Bud” Brady, of Clearfield, PA, Shirley A. Howell, of Harrisburg, PA, Betty Jane Cook, Donald L. Brady and his wife Gloria, Edward E. Brady and his wife Doreen, all of Clearfield, PA, a brother-in-law, Charles C. Brown, of Curwensville, PA and several nieces and nephews.

Mr. Brady is preceded in death by his parents, a son, James Brady, a sister, Joan Carol Brown and two brothers-in-law: Nace Howell and Dean Cook.

Funeral Services will be held at Bennett and Houser Funeral Home Inc. of Clearfield on Dec. 27, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. with Dr. Duane White officiating. Interment will be in the Thompson Cemetery with Military Honors accorded by the members of the Honor Guard.

Family and friends will be received at the funeral home on Dec. 26 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. and on Tuesday from 1:00 p.m. until the hour of the services.
