Caring for Kids Campaign Kicks Into High Gear

PITTSBURGH – Just a few days remain in the 33rd annual Eat’n Park Caring for Kids Campaign to raise funds for 14 children’s hospitals including DuBois Regional Medical Center. Through December 11, guests can purchase a $2 raffle ticket at any Eat’n Park restaurant for the chance to win a new 2012 Ford Focus.

Ticket sales from the restaurant at 1355 Beeline Highway in DuBois will go directly to DuBois Regional Medical Center.

More than midway through the campaign, nearly 38,000 tickets have been sold. The goal is to top last year’s record-breaking raffle ticket sales, which totaled more than $120,000 in donations.

New 2012 Ford Focus vehicles, provided by the Neighborhood Ford Store, are parked at Eat’n Park restaurants to help promote the campaign and remind guests of the chance to win one of the vehicles. One lucky raffle ticket will be drawn by a patient at Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh on December 14.

Last year’s Caring for Kids raffle winner of a 2011 Ford Fiesta was Johnstown resident John Springer who purchased only one ticket at the Eat’n Park restaurant in Westmont, Penn.

The Neighborhood Ford Store is comprised of 82 Ford dealers in southwest Pennsylvania, southeast Ohio and the panhandles of Maryland and West Virginia.

Now in its 33rd year, Eat’n Park’s Caring for Kids Campaign has raised nearly $7 million for the Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh, and hundreds of thousands of dollars for other children’s hospitals throughout the dining chain’s operating area. Monies collected from the campaign stay in the communities where they were donated, making it a true locally and community-driven fundraiser.
