CLEARFIELD – On Monday, a Woodland man was sentenced to state prison for his role in the death of 17-year-old Kerinne D. Hawkins.

As part of his sentence, Robert Goodrow was ordered to pay into a scholarship fund created in Hawkins’ name.

“When you get out of jail … I’m going to set up a scholarship fund in her memory … you will contribute every month that you’re under supervision,” said the Honorable Judge Paul E. Cherry.

He noted that Hawkins was into cheerleading, and that is what the scholarship will go toward. He said each year, the funds will be disbributed to the Clearfield Area School District to spend on their cheerleading programs.

“That way, we can remember Kerinne,” stated Cherry.
