Campus basketball opens homestand; wrestling heads to New York

As the fall semester winds down, the Penn State New Kensington men’s basketball teams begins a four-game homestand with conference rivals at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 30, against Penn State Greater Allegheny in the Athletics Center. Wrestling heads to Sanborn, N.Y., on Saturday, Dec. 3, for the Niagara College Open.

Basketball will sandwich the first three games into a four-day span. Two days after the Greater Allegheny game, the New Kensington Lions face Penn State Wilkes-Barre at 7 p.m. Friday, Dec. 2, followed by Penn State Scranton at noon on Saturday, Dec. 3. The final home game of the 2011 portion of the schedule is set for 7 p.m., Thursday, Dec. 8. Coach Doug Schneider’s team is 1-0 in the Penn State University Athletic Conference and is coming off a 70-46 non-conference loss Nov. 18 at St. Vincent College that evened New Kensington’s overall record at 2-2.
