Norman R. Pearce, age 72, of Luthersburg Rockton Road in Luthersburg, PA died Saturday, November 19, 2011 at the DuBois Regional Medical Center.
He was born on October 22, 1939 in Cherry Tree, PA. He was the son of Edward L. & Alice E. (Downey) Pearce. He also had a stepmother, Lois Huey Casady Pearce. She preceded him in death as well.
On January 26, 1963, he married Ruth (Haag) Pearce. She survives.
He retired from Penelec as a chief lineman. He also owned and operated the Curwensville Tastee Freez.
He was a member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers. He enjoyed camping.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his son, Ralph E. Pearce of San Diego, CA and his daughter, Marsha J. DePello of Luthersburg, PA, four brothers, Edward Pearce of Waukesan, IL, David Pearce and his wife, Iris of Philipsburg, PA, Donald Pearce and his wife, Rose Angela of Brazil, and Harold Pearce and his wife, Donna of Tipton, PA, a step brother, James Cassidy and his wife, Shirley of Ebensburg, PA and a step sister, Norma (Casady) Smith and her husband, James of Carteret, NJ, two grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his stepmother, stepbrother, Harvey Casady, his brothers, Clayton “Bud” Pearce and John Pearce and two sisters, Grace Smith and Patricia Pendleton.
Visitation will be held on Monday, November 21, 2011 from 2-4 and 7-9 P.M. at the Goble Baronick Funeral Home in DuBois.
A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, November 22, 2011 at 11 A.M. from the Goble Baronick Funeral Home with Pastor Robert Newell officiating.
Burial will follow in Troutville Trinity United Church of Christ Cemetery.
