Obituary Notice: George W. Lute

George William Lute, 86 of Port Matilda and formerly of Chester Hill, passed away on Nov. 13, 2011 at Mount Nittany medical Center, State College.

Born on March 22, 1925 in Latrobe, he was the son of the late George Robb & Eliza Jane (Small) Lute.

On May 28, 1948 in Washington, DC, he wed Natalie A. (Foster) Lute, who passed away March 16, 1997.

He is survived by two daughters and one son:

Melanie Axel-Lute and her husband Paul of South Orange, NJ

Daniel G. Lute and his wife Ella of Harrisburg, PA

Lora Storck and her husband Edwin of Philipsburg, PA

Brothers:
Walter H. Lute of Latrobe, PA

David J. Lute of Woodstock, GA 

Grandchildren:

Mariam Tell, Gregory Axel-Lute, Christopher D. Lute, Valerie J. Lute, Seth Storck and Tara Storck

Great-grandchildren:

Nadia Tell and Matthew Lute

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife; sisters: Eleanor Ernest and Hazel Kirk and brother: Charles E. Lute 

He was a graduate of Latrobe Area High School and The Bliss Electrical School of Takoma Park, MD, a customer engineer for IBM Corporation, a member of the First Presbyterian Church, Philipsburg, where he was a Trustee, Deacon and Elder, a member of the Philipsburg Rod & Gun Club, American Legion Post 68 of Locke Mills, Maine, and Battle of Ormac Bay Association, and a Veteran of the US Navy during WWII and sailed on the USS Moale

Funeral Services will be held at the First Presbyterian Church, 509 E. Presqueisle St., Philipsburg, PA on Nov. 17 at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Jean Martin officiating.  Burial will be in the Philipsburg Cemetery, where military honors will be conducted by the Moshannon Valley Independent Honor Guard.  Friends will be received at the David K. Dahlgren Funeral Home, 228 N. Centre St. Philipsburg, PA on Nov. 16, 2011 from 7-9 p.m.
