Blain G. “Shep” Shepherd, 86 of Philipsburg and formerly of Graham Station, Philipsburg RD, passed away Nov. 14, 2011 at Altoona Regional Health System, Altoona Hospital Campus, Altoona.
Born April 25, 1925 in Burnsville, NC, she was the son of the late Oscar & Erie Shepherd.
On Aug. 26, 1946 he Ann (Rice) Shepherd, who passed away Sept. 9, 1993.
He is survived by two sons and one daughter:
Forrest S. Shepherd and his wife Sandy of Morrisdale, PA
Linda L. Shepherd of South Carolina
Leonard Shepherd of Indiana
Grandchildren:
Samantha Lannen and her husband Tom of Morrisdale, PA
Bryan Shepherd and his wife Shellie of Charleroi, PA
Paris Jordan of South Carolina
Great-grandchildren:
Brayden Shepherd, Ayden Gutierrez, Tanner Shepherd, Hansen Lannen, Josh Lannen and Jessica Lannen
He was the last of his generation.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife; sisters: Mabel and Betty; and brothers: Charles, Ted, Forrest, Harold and Ben.
He was of the Protestant faith;he was a former heavy equipment operator and hotel owner and he was a member of the F&AM Moshannon Lodge #391.
Private funeral services will be held at the convenience of the family at the David K. Dahlgren Funeral Home, 228 N. Centre St. Philipsburg, PA with Rev. Brenda K. Leigey officiating.
Burial will be in the Philipsburg Cemetery. There will be no public visitation.
