Web Site Soliciting Prostitution Shut Down

(GantDaily Graphic)

STATE COLLEGE – According to news partner WJAC, a Web site in Centre County soliciting prostitution has been shut down.

Court documents obtained by 6News said that two Philidelphia-based companies behind Escort.com have agreed to a multi-million plea deal in the wake of prostitution and money laundering accusations.

Records indicate that R.S. Duffy Inc. and National A-1 Advertising entered a plea agreement this week and the website has been shut down.

Within the complaint, a US attorney wrote that the companies collected fees from advertisers and posters on the website who offered prostitution services.

Although the complaint did not detail what illegal activities connected to the website took place in Centre County, Penn State students told 6News that struggling students have been posting questionable posts on websites like Craigslist.com and BackPage.com.
