UPDATE: Beaver Stadium grass parking lots now closed

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — Beaver Stadium grass parking lots for today’s Penn State-Illinois game are now closed to further vehicles because of accumulating snow. Vehicles already parked in grass lots will not be required to move. Visitors with grass lot parking passes will be redirected to paved lots with free shuttle service to and from the stadium throughout the day. Snow has been falling in Centre County for several hours and is expected to continue throughout the afternoon, with accumulations of 4-8 inches expected.

Free shuttles will be provided to patrons parking in off-site lots. A complete list of alternate parking locations, along with street addresses for GPS navigation, is included at the end of this announcement. Shuttle buses will run to off-site lots continuously until at least 90 minutes after the conclusion of the game.

Fans are encouraged to check http://www.GoPSUsports.com and http://live.psu.edu and local radio stations (95.3 FM, 1450 AM and 93.7 FM) for further updates up to kickoff. Fans can follow the Twitter hashtag #PSUparking for updates. Penn State customer relations representatives will be available at 800-NITTANY until one hour after the conclusion of the game.

Penn State is asking football patrons for their patience and understanding as they travel to the game. Fans are being urged to carpool and use the CATA, Fullington and Penn State shuttle services. Those who can walk to the stadium, particularly students, are asked to do so. Fans are advised to reconsider plans to bring an RV, and to opt for a car if possible. Car and RV drivers should leave extra time for travel and parking.

Fans are asked not to use tents in any of the parking lots.

Prepaid parking passes will be honored at all off-site lots.
