Winter storm forecast causes changes to football parking

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — Due to the inclement weather conditions expected this weekend, several of the typical areas used for football parking will not be available for Saturday’s football game vs. Illinois. Additional information about parking changes and options will be posted as soon as it is available. Follow updates on parking changes on Twitter, #PSUparking.

To address the demand, a variety of satellite parking areas are going to be utilized for Saturday’s game-day parking. In addition, several campus parking areas will be impacted.

On a typical football Saturday, many of the campus parking lots are reserved for event parking, and a permit is required, with current PSU parking permits being valid for parking in faculty/staff parking lots located west of Bigler Road. This will be the case for this Saturday with many of the on campus parking areas seeing heavier than usual use. All other current permits will be valid for parking at no additional charge.

Additional adjustments being made for this Saturday:

— The East Parking Deck will be used for ADA parking. All vehicles displaying a current permit (any type) and an ADA placard will be allowed to park at no additional charge. Anyone with a current ADA placard but no permit will be charged the football event fee of $40 per vehicle. All other current permits will be valid for parking at no additional charge.

— The Orange A parking lot at the Katz Building will be reserved for football parking. Beginning at midnight tonight (Oct. 28), all department vehicles must be removed from the lot.
