No injuries were reported after a two-vehicle accident at 4:41 a.m. Friday along Main Street in Bradford Township, Clearfield County. A vehicle driven by a 31-year-old Bigler man was traveling north, while another driven by Mark A. Gillette, 51, of Clearfield was turning left from Walker Road onto Main Street. The Gillette vehicle approached a stop sign and proceeded legally with clearance and initially wasn’t able to complete the turn due to a parked car on the eastern berm.
The Gillette vehicle backed up legally and then proceeded forward again. As the Gillette traveled forward to complete the left-hand turn, the first vehicle collided into its right side. The first vehicle had approximately 100 yards of visibility prior to colliding with the Gillette vehicle. However, the man failed to clear the frost from his windshield, making his visibility poor. The Gillette vehicle was driven from the scene, while the first vehicle required towing and suffered disabling damage. The Bigler man was cited for windshield obstructions and wipers.
