The Last Word

Jay: “Well, going against the grain last week didn’t help my cause so I’ll just stick to who I think will win each game. Port/Coudy should be a good one, but I’m not sold on any of the AML North teams this year – so I’ll pick the South Division next week. Mo Valley can really help themselves with a win this week. Only taking PSU and Nebraska because they are at home – don’t think either one is the really better team though. Hope I’m wrong on the Steelers and Eagles this week.”

Dustin: “Let’s face it, Pittsburgh had a much better game against the Cardinals, mainly since they came out and scored in the second half. But come on, they’re facing Tom Brady. I just can’t pull the trigger this week on the black and gold. Sorry Steeler fans, don’t hate me.”

Dave:  “Most of the best high school matchups are a bit out of the local area – Clearfield gets its easiest game of the season against a poor Bellefonte team, but Mo Valley needs a win to boost their playoff chances. My PSU pick is mainly about how Illinois has wobbled the past few weeks – Northwestern’s defense is terrible, so I am not that impressed with the Lions’ offense a week ago. Eagles’ season is on the line at home, and in Pittsburgh I expect a close game,  but Ben hasn’t beaten Brady since his rookie season – I can’t pick against the Pats in this matchup.”

Rusty: “Clearfield looks to have a “field day” over Bellefonte this week with some other very close games among these high school contests that could go either way.  Penn State will use the home field advantage to pull out another one, but the Steelers are going to run into the real thing at home this week.”

Chris:  “As a former Clearfielder now living in Bellefonte, this game was tough to pick. However, having seen the Red Raiders up close and personal, I can say that this will be a walk in the park for the Bisons. On the college gridiron, it appears that JoePa and JayPa finally figured out that Matt McGloin is the better QB. Now that we’re in the stretch run, they simply cannot afford to give playing time to Rob Bolden — he takes points off the board. The Steelers looked good last week, but Tom Brady owns them even at Heinz Field.”
