Stephanie A. Georgek, age 46, of Treasure Lake in DuBois, PA died Oct. 26, 2011 at the DuBois Regional Medical Center.
She was born on July 23, 1965 in DuBois, PA. She was the daughter of the late John E. Rieg, Sr. & Cloyann (Frease) Rieg Hurd.
On Sept. 23, 1989, she married Mark K. Georgek. He survives.
She was a controller at Hardware Specialties in DuBois for 11 years.
She attended St. Michael the Archangel Roman Catholic Church in DuBois. She was active in the protection of animals. She enjoyed cooking and crafting, her family and spending time at home. She also loved going to Myrtle Beach, SC.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by her brothers, John E. Rieg of Sykesville, PA and David M. Rieg and his wife, Lisa of Brookville, PA, her stepfather, Walter Hurd of Punxsutawney, PA, two step-brothers, Randy Hurd of Marion Center, PA and Rick Hurd and his wife, Jill of Gaithersburg, MD, and her step-sister, Wendy Depp and her husband, Doug of Punxsutawney, PA.
She was preceded in death by her parents and two step brothers, Richie Hurd and Wally “Buddy” Hurd.
There will be no public visitation.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Oct. 29 at 10 a.m. from St. Michael the Archangel Roman Catholic Church in DuBois with Fr. David Foradori as celebrant.
Burial will follow in Troutville Trinity United Church of Christ Cemetery.
Memorials may be placed with the Gateway Humane Society, 1211 Airport Road, Falls Creek, PA 15840.
