Margaret (Rusnak) Evcic, 92, of Ramey died Friday at Mount Nittany Medical Center, State College. She was born April 5, 1919 at Madera, a daughter of the late Michael and Susan (Bondy) Rusnak.
Mrs. Evcic was a parishioner of the Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Ramey, and a member of the former Holy Trinity Rosary Society. She also was a member of the Catholic Daughters of the Americas, St. Victoria’s Court #646, Houtzdale.
She was a homemaker and affectionately known as Baba.
In June 1942, she married Joseph P. Evcic, who preceded her in death on Oct. 22, 1985.
She’s survived by two sons, Joseph W. Evcic and his wife, Nancy of DuBois and Michael A. Evcic and his wife, Cindy of State College. She’s also survived by three granddaughters, Sarah Evcic, Taylor Evcic and Annie Evcic; four step-grandchildren, Dawn Vargo, Maureen Pentz, Roger Hull and James Hull and a number of nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by three sisters, Susan Baylin, Mary Rusnak and Elizabeth Rusnak; six brothers; Mike, Steve, George, Frank, Joe and John.
Friends will be received from 3 p.m. – 7 p.m. Tuesday and from 9 a.m. -10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the Kruise Funeral Home Inc., Ramey. The Catholic Daughters of the
Americas will recite the Rosary at 3:30 p.m. Tuesday in the funeral home.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Ramey, with Fr. Zab Amar as celebrant. Interment will follow in Holy Trinity Catholic Cemetery, Ramey. Condolences may be sent to:
