Calling all Goblins: Halloween Science Spooktacular at LHU

What is Halloween without some noise and smoke and . . . slime?  Children of all ages are invited to a magical night of Halloween-themed activities at Lock Haven University.

The “Halloween Science Spooktacular” is a free event hosted by the LHU chemistry and physics clubs Oct. 25 in the Ulmer Planetarium. The doors will open at 6:30 p.m. for hands-on activities and the demonstration show will start at 7 p.m.  Parking will be available behind Ulmer.

The hands-on activities will include making slime, pipet rockets and fun with magnets. The demonstrations will be performed by the ghoulish students and professors of the clubs and will include making toothpaste for an elephant, burning ice, and colored flames.

Guests are invited to come in their Halloween costumes and children will be entered into a raffle for a chance to win a science kit.

LHU students in the chemistry and physics clubs are looking forward to the Spooktacular and are hoping for a great turnout.

“We love to see the kids being enthusiastic about science,” said Eric Driscoll, chemistry club president.
