- An incident of driving under the influence was reported at 2:01 a.m. Saturday along state Route 1001 in St. Marys, Elk County. A 20-year-old Johnsonburg woman was stopped for a traffic violation, and while speaking with her, a moderate odor of alcoholic beverage was evident on her breath. She was subsequently arrested for DUI and other summary charges.
- An incident of theft by deception reportedly occurred between 6 p.m. Oct. 11 and 12:11 p.m. Friday at a Marvin Street residence in Jones Township, Elk County. On Oct. 11, a 40-year-old Wilcox woman was contacted by a male caller who claimed to be with the federal government. He advised she was eligible for a federal grant in the amount of $7,000. The victim was told there was a processing fee of $245. On Friday, the victim went to Western Union in Kane and sent $245 to India. The grant money was never deposited to her.
- An incident of theft reportedly occurred sometime between 8 a.m. Wednesday and 11:15 a.m. Sunday along state Route 555 in Jay Township, Elk County. A known Weedville suspect reportedly plugged an extension cord into a 74-year-old Weedville man’s residence and ran it through an east facing window of their residence. The investigation is ongoing.
