Penn State-Purdue game to air on BTN

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — Penn State’s 92nd Homecoming game against Purdue on Oct. 15 will kick at noon in Beaver Stadium. The contest will air on Big Ten Network, the Penn State Sports Network and www.GoPSUsports.com.

The contest against the Boilermakers is the Nittany Lions’ eighth announced telecast of the season. Penn State will be making its second of at least three appearances of the season on BTN. This Saturday’s home clash with Iowa will kick at 3:30 p.m. and be an ABC regional telecast (ESPN in outer markets).

The Big Ten Network televised the Lions’ 41-7 season opening win over Indiana State. The Nittany Lions’ Oct. 22 primetime clash at Northwestern also will air on BTN and additional Penn State games could be selected to air on the network, which is not available to Adams, Armstrong and Blue Ridge Cable customers in Pennsylvania and Ohio. BTN is available to approximately 80 million homes on more than 300 providers in the U.S. and Canada.

The Nittany Lions (4-1, 1-0) and Boilermakers will be meeting for the 15th time, with Penn State owning a 10-3-1 series lead. The teams will be meeting for the first time since the Nittany Lions earned a 20-6 win in 2008 and the first time as Big Ten Leaders Division foes.

Purdue (2-2) begins conference play this Saturday, hosting Minnesota.

Penn State is 65-21-5 all-time on Homecoming, with a 39-6 record under Coach Joe Paterno.

Penn State has appeared on TV in 208 of its last 210 games. The Nittany Lions’ remaining kick/TV times that have been announced:

Oct. 8 vs. Iowa, 3:30 p.m. (ABC-ESPN in outer markets)
Oct. 15 vs. Purdue, noon (BTN)
Oct. 22 at Northwestern, 6 p.m. CT / 7 p.m. ET (BTN)

All remaining Penn State kick times and TV information will be announced six or 12 days prior to game.

A limited number of tickets remain for the clash with Iowa. Tickets also are available for Penn State’s home games with Purdue and undefeated Illinois (Oct. 29).
