- A single-vehicle accident occurred on state Route 53 in Beccaria Township on Oct. 4. A Glen Hope woman was traveling north on SR 53 when, while negotiating a curve, traveled into the other lane of traffic. She traveled off of the left side of the road and went into a ditch. It was unknown if she was injured. She was wearing her seat belt and transported to Altoona Regional for an examination. She was also arrested for DUI and other charges.
