Sandy Township Accepts Funds for Fire Relief Association

DUBOIS – Sandy Township voted to accept $256,415.80 Monday night.  The two sources of money come from the Municipal Pension System State Aid Deposit and Volunteer Fire Relief Association Deposit.

Of the sum $146,239.30 will be deposited as legally required towards the police pension.  The $110,176.50 from the Fire Relief Association includes a higher amount than expected.

“I want to warn you that it may not be as high next year,” said Township Manager Dick Castonguay.

Castonguay let the present supervisors know that he had already been warned that they shouldn’t plan their budget for the extra deposit monies next year.  Supervisor Brady LaBorde was excused for the evening and Supervisor Dave Sylvis abstained from the vote due to ties to the Fire Relief Association.
