John Olin Gearhart, Sr., age 68, of Wasson Ave., in DuBois, PA died Oct. 4, 2011 at his residence.
He was born on March 3, 1943 in DuBois, PA. He was the son of the late Olin & Erma (Taylor) Gearhart.
On June 30, 1962, he married Donna J. (Tudor) Gearhart. She survives.
He retired as an accountant from Balfurd, Inc. in Tipton, PA and previously worked as an accountant for Paris Uniform and Deposit Bank. He also was the owner/operator of Carbon City Computer Services.
He was a member of the Christian Missionary & Alliance Church in State College, PA. He enjoyed country music and played music for many years at the Hickory Grange, the Oklahoma Fire Hall and other community functions as a member of the band American Country. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and watching sports.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by two children: Mr. John Olin Gearhart, Jr. and his wife, Marrianne of DuBois, PA and Mrs. Randy (Joann) Yohe of Sykesville, PA, five grandchildren (Cory Yohe, Sean Gearhart, Randi Yohe, Ryan Gearhart, and Dylan Yohe, two great grandchildren, Colton and Landon Yohe.
He was preceded in death by his parents and two infant daughters, Brenda Lee & Carol Jean Gearhart.
Visitation will be held on Oct. 6 from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. at the Goble Baronick Funeral Home in DuBois.
A funeral service will be held on Oct. 7 at 11 a.m. from the Goble Baronick Funeral Home with Rev. Tim Connor and Rev. Dave Nagele officiating.
Burial will follow in Lakelawn Memorial Park, Reynoldsville, PA.
