Project Santa 365 Starts Another Season

The Catholic Daughters of America, St. Victoria’s Court #646, is happy to announce the kickoff  of Project Santa 365 for 2012.  Project Santa was started by the Roger and Sharon Kritzer family of Berwindale, in memory of their son PFC Bradley Kritzer. PFC Kritzer was killed in action, in 2004 while serving his country, in Iraq. 

 CD of A Project Santa 365 Coordinator Debora Kruise stated 2010 was a very successful year as a total of 227 care packages were sent to service men and women in Afghanistan and Iraq.  So far, in 2011 total of 18 packages have been sent. 

Kruise is happy to announce two new assistants in collecting items for Project Santa 365, Amy Vereshack, of Tyrone Hospital and Jo Ann McCracken, of James P. Kimmel Insurance Agency, Nationwide Insurance. 

If your business, group, organization or if as an individual you would like to donate any of the  items listed below please contact Debora Kruise at 378-5514 or 553-3156.  For those of you who have been more than generous in the past and have shown support through the years, Kruise will be contacting you.

Anyone wishing to be creative may do a themed package which would celebrate birthdays, Thanksgiving, Christmas, Hanukah or New Years. 

Some new items on wish lists so far are flip flops to wear into the showers, shower curtains, good quality razors, like MAC3 razors, boot socks, gun cleaning kits.  Some of the standard items include:  baby wipes, phone cards, magazines, books, movies, hand warmers, foot  warmers, tooth brushes, body spray, Pringles, individual crackers, Frebreeze, body wash, individual cookies and snacks, beef jerky, comic books, blue and black pens,  hard candy, thumb tack (to hang the pictures), underwear, non-carbonated drinks (Propel), travel size games (chess, checkers), memory sticks, deck of cards, memory cards (i.e. PSP’s), suntan lotion,   notebooks, envelopes and stationery,  fly paper (some areas where the soldiers live have lots of flies), a multi-tool or really good folding knife, sun glasses, digital or disposable cameras,travel size packets of laundry detergent, powdered drinks, especially Gatorade,  blank writable CD’s, crossword puzzles, word searches, and of course the most important items, cards and letters.  Soldiers want to hear about your day, what it is like where you live, what you do.
