Janet Renea Darmiento Piercey, 45, of Curwensville, PA, passed away Sept. 30, 2011 at UPMC Presbyterian Hospital in Pittsburgh, PA.
Born Sept. 15, 1966 in Fort Monmouth, NJ, she was the daughter of John Darmiento and Mildred (Vail) Darmiento. Mrs. Piercey had done Volunteer work for both the NW PA Rural AIDS Coalition and the Handicapped Society.
She was a member of the Curwensville United Methodist Church where she was involved as a greeter, the United Methodist Women, and helped with Vacation Bible School.
She wed Richard W. Piercey on Aug. 1, 1993 and who preceded her in death on Oct. 12, 1999. She was also preceded in death by her paternal and maternal grandparents.
Surviving are her parents, both of Curwensville, 2 brothers and a sister. John Darmiento Jr. of Curwensville, and Terry Kendal and her husband Douglas and Robert Hickman both of New Jersey. Also surviving is a niece Kasi Tonzer of Clearfield, PA.
Funeral Services for Mrs. Piercey will be held at the Curwensville United Methodist Church 602 State St Curwensville, PA 16833 on Oct. 6 at 11:00 a.m., with the Reverend Dr. Robert S. Ludrowsky officiating. Interment will be in the Oak Hill Cemetery Curwensville, PA.
Friends will be received at the Chester C. Chidboy Funeral Home, Inc. 300 State St. Curwensville, PA 16833 on Oct. 5 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. and again Thursday morning from 9:30 a.m. until 10:30 a.m., when the procession will be departing for the church.
