Obituary Notice: Donald W. Rhone

Donald W. Rhone, 79, of Clearfield, passed away Oct. 1, 2011 at his home.

Mr. Rhone was born on Aug. 19, 1932 in Clearfield, the son of Raymond P. and Ruth (Sunderlin) Rhone.

He retired in 1995 from Martell Sales.

Mr. Rhone was a member of the West Side United Methodist Church of Clearfield.

He was a past member of the Boy Scouts and Order of the Arrow.

Mr. Rhone was a United States Navy Veteran having served during the Korean Conflict.

He is survived by his wife, Patricia A. (Nelson) Rhone whom he married December 27, 1952, three sons; Douglas W. Rhone and his wife Karen, Dennis W. Rhone and Jeffrey L. Rhone all of Clearfield, six grandchildren; Joshua Rhone and his wife Crystal, Zach Rhone and his wife Maria, Catie Rhone and her fiance Nick Colesar, Jesse Winters, Joseph Craig Rhone and Jonathan Rhone, two great grandchildren; Quinton and Madison Rhone, three sisters; Mae McPherson of Penn Hills, PA., Eleanor Rupp of Past Falls, Idaho and Clara Jean Abernathy of Levittown, PA. and his beloved pets; Molly and Punkin.

Mr. Rhone was preceded in death by his parents, an infant son, Donald Alan Rhone, a brother, William R. Rhone and a sister, Thelma Farrell.

Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Oct. 6 at the Bennett and Houser Funeral Home, Inc., of Clearfield with Rev. John Croft officiating. Interment will be in Hillcrest Cemetery. Military Honors will be accorded at the cemetery by the Clearfield American Legion Post #6 and the VFW Post #1758 Honor Guard.

Friends will be received at the funeral home on Oct. 5 from 3-5 and 7-9 p.m. and on Thursday from 10:00 a.m. until the hour of services.
