Pipe Work Will Impact Traffic on Route 153 near Penfield

Work starts Oct. 5

PENFIELD – Drivers in the Penfield area can expect short travel delays on Route 153, starting Wednesday, as pipe replacement work begins. PennDOT will replace a large pipe along Route 153, about two miles north of Penfield.

The pipe work will require lane closures along the roadway. Drivers should be alert for flaggers on the roadway enforcing an alternating traffic pattern.

The pipe replacement work is expected to run through the end of the month, with all work weather dependent. Drivers should plan for some extra travel time through the area. L.C. Whitford of Wellsville, New York is the contractor on this job.

Drivers are reminded to obey posted speed limits and always buckle up.
