In Philipsburg … Harvest Fest Returns

PHILIPSBURG – The Philipsburg Main Street Program is hosting the Tenth Annual Harvest Fest on Oct. 29. All events are open to the public.

Harvest Fest runs from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. A Halloween parade for all ages will assemble outside the Philipsburg Towers with registration beginning at the Philipsburg Senior Center at 11:00 a.m. Only those wishing to have their costumes judged need to register, all others can begin line up in front of The Towers at 11:30 a.m. The parade will begin at 12:00 p.m. at the corner of Front and Spruce Streets, and will proceed along North Front Street to make a right-hand turn onto West Presqueisle Street.  The parade will end at the borough parking lot at the bottom of the hill on West Presqueisle Street. Immediately following the parade treat bags and a map will be given to all participants who can then “trick or treat” in downtown Philipsburg. Several local merchants will be handing out candy from 12:30 to 2:00 p.m.. At 1:30 p.m. parade and pumpkin carving contest awards will be made at 203 N. Front Street. From 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. there will be a party for all ages at the AmVets on West Presqueisle Street including a free movie, popcorn, hot dogs and other goodies. There will also be Harvest Fair, featuring local farmers and vendors, will be in the municipal parking lot at 112 E. Presquiesle St., from 10:00 am-4:00 p.m. Pumpkin carving contest entries can be dropped off at 203 N. Front St. between 11:00 a.m. and 12:00 p.m.
