Former Lady Lion Wright claims WNBA All-Defensive first team honors

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — Former Penn State Lady Lion standout Tanisha Wright earned her third consecutive berth on the WNBA All-Defensive first team after another stellar season with the Seattle Storm. The three-time Big Ten Defensive Player of the Year claimed seven first team votes and finished with 35 points in a vote of the WNBA’s 12 head coaches.

Wright was one of four Storm players to average double figures with a 10.1 scoring mark, which is the highest scoring output of her career. She ranked 15th in the WNBA in field goal percentage (.492) and fourth in free throw percentage (.897). Additionally she was 18th in the WNBA in assists with a 2.94 average and 21st in steals at a 1.2 clip.
