Police Report: DuBois PSP

– An incident of disorderly conduct reported occurred at 5:05 p.m. Saturday along Kearney Road in Snyder Township, Jefferson County.  Two Brockway men were walking when one told the other to turn around and go back to where he’d come from. The two then exchanged words and threats toward each other. Charges were filed against both men for disorderly conduct.

– No injuries were reported following a two-vehicle accident at 5:33 p.m. Friday along Interstate 80 westbound near mile marker 103.6 in Union Township, Clearfield County.  A truck tractor driven by Azret T. Bytdaev, 24, of Mount Prospect, IL was traveling in the advanced warning area before a construction zone, where the right lane was closed at approximately mile marker 102.

Traffic was slowing down and coming to a stop ahead of the Bytdaev truck tractor due to the construction zone. A 23-year-old DuBois man was traveling in the left lane behind when the Bytdaev truck tractor began slowing for the traffic stopping ahead. The man started applying his brakes and then slid, striking the rear trailing unit of the Bytdaev truck tractor, which jack-knifed and came to a rest, facing south broadside across the right lane. The trailing unit was facing north broadside across both westbound lanes.

Both operators were wearing their seatbelts. The DuBois man’s vehicle was severely damaged and towed from the scene. The Bytdaev truck tractor was driven from the scene with minor damage to its trailing unit. Police were assisted at the scene by the Sandy Township Fire Department, DuSan Ambulance and Mottman Towing. The westbound lanes of I-80 were closed for approximately one hour.

– No injuries were reported following a single-vehicle accident at 4:20 a.m. Sunday along Interstate 80 in Pine Creek Township, Jefferson County.  A 20-year-old Clearfield man was traveling eastbound in the right lane at the 85.6 mile marker when he fell asleep. His vehicle then swerved to the left and the driver’s side front struck the guiderails along the north berm. The man woke up and steered the vehicle over onto the south berm. Police were assisted at the scene by the Pine Creek Volunteer Fire Department and Jefferson County Emergency Medical Services. The man was wearing his seatbelt at the time of the accident. He was charged with vehicle code 3714.
