DUBOIS – A 29-year-old DuBois man faces simple assault and related charges following a domestic dispute Monday at a Flewad Road residence, the Sandy Township Police Department reported.

Police have identified the accused as Paul Michael Hoover, 29, of DuBois. He’s charged with simple assault, harassment, recklessly endangering another person and terroristic threats.

According to the report, police responded and found a 27-year-old woman who was “visibly shaken” and who reported that her husband (Hoover) had assaulted her after an argument. She told police Hoover had grabbed their 8-year-old son by the face and shoved him to the floor.

She told police Hoover had also grabbed their 3-month-old baby and dropped the baby on the floor, while he was attempting to assault her. The accused had left the residence prior to police arrival but was “quickly detained” and taken into custody.

The woman and baby were transported to the DuBois Regional Medical Center for treatment. The severity of their injuries wasn’t indicated in the police report.

Hoover was placed in the Clearfield County Jail, and his bail was set at $35,000 monetary, according to court documents.
