Student tickets for Big Ten opener at Indiana available Monday

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — Penn State students have an opportunity to attend the Nittany Lions’ Big Ten Conference opener at Indiana on Oct. 1. Students who want to attend the game can purchase a ticket beginning at 7 a.m. on Monday, Sept. 26 at Gate B (northeast corner) of the Bryce Jordan Center.

A limited number of tickets will be made available on a first-come, first served basis for the contest in Bloomington. Each student will be permitted to purchase one $50 ticket and must present a valid Penn State ID+ Card to secure a ticket. All sales of all tickets will be done on a cash only basis. Credit cards and checks will not be accepted.

Students wanting to purchase tickets so that they may sit together at the Indiana game will need to make their ticket purchase together at Gate B of the BJC Monday morning. Students may arrive at the Jordan Center at 6 a.m. on Monday for the sale.

If student tickets still remain after 8 a.m. on Monday, the sale will move from Gate B to the Athletic Ticket Office inside the BJC. Student tickets will not be available after 4 p.m. on Monday.

Penn State will be opening its 19th season of Big Ten competition and first in the conference’s Leaders Division, along with Indiana, Illinois, Ohio State, Purdue and Wisconsin. The winners of the Legends and Leaders Divisions will meet in the inaugural Big Ten Football Championship Game on Dec. 3 at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis.

The Nittany Lions will be playing at Memorial Stadium for the first time since 2007. Last year, Penn State beat Indiana, 41-24, at FedEx Field to take a 14-0 series advantage. The Oct. 1 game will kick at noon ET and air on ESPNU, the Penn State Sports Network and www.GoPSUsports.com.

Should demand dictate it, student tickets will be sold through a wristband lottery. If the number of students in line by 7 a.m. exceeds the number of student tickets allocated for the Indiana game, a wristband lottery will be held. Students not in line by the time of the sale, 7 a.m., will not be included in the wristband lottery, should one be held.

Penn State students will have an opportunity to purchase tickets for every away game the Monday prior to each contest, with the lone exception being the season-ending game at Wisconsin (Nov. 26) due to Thanksgiving break from classes. The Wisconsin sale will take place on Tuesday, Nov. 15, one day after the student sale for the clash at Ohio State.

Penn State hosts Eastern Michigan on Saturday, Sept. 24 at noon. Fans are encouraged to wear their favorite Nittany Lion jersey to the contest. Tickets are available Friday at the Bryce Jordan Center Ticket office (10 a.m.-6 p.m.) or by calling 814-865-5555. The Beaver Stadium Ticket office near Gate E will open Saturday at 8 a.m.
