An incident of cruelty to animals reportedly occurred at 4 p.m. Tuesday along Fernwood Road in Gulich Township, Clearfield County. A 21-year-old Houtzdale man’s blue-nosed pit bull dog was running loose in his back yard when someone shot it at close range with an unknown weapon. The dog was transported to a veterinarian for treatment of the gun shot wound and is expected to live. The incident remains under investigation at this time.
