- An incident of aggravated assault reportedly occurred at 8:47 p.m. Wednesday at the State Correctional Institution at Houtzdale in Woodward Township, Clearfield County. A known 20-year-old inmate engaged in a physical altercation with another inmate in a cell block area. A 33-year-old Osceola Mills man attempted to break up the fight; however, when handcuffing another inmate, the accused punched him (the man) in the mouth area. The accused was secured and handcuffed by correctional officers. He was then escorted to the restricting housing unit. The man suffered bruising and swelling to his face as well as a chipped tooth. Charges of aggravated assault will be filed at a later date.
- The investigation is ongoing into an incident of burglary that reportedly occurred sometime between 6 p.m. Thursday and 7 a.m. Friday along the Philipsburg – Bigler Highway in Decatur Township, Clearfield County. A person(s) gained entry into APEX Hydraulic and Machine Inc. and caused damage to the front door and jam.
