LOCK HAVEN – Sophomore wide receiver Jesse Hoover of Curwensville caught seven passes for 139 yards, both career highs, and scored one touchdown for Lock Haven Saturday night, but the Bald Eagles were unable to halt their long losing streak as Millersville disappointed the partisan crowd of 2,793 in Hubert Jack Stadium by eking out a 21-20 win.
The loss in the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference crossover game was the 33rd in a row for Lock Haven, which couldn’t come back from a pair of two-TD deficits.
Hoover’s score was a 68-yard catch-and-run, bettering his career-long of 65 yards last year when his personal-bests were five receptions in one game and 128 yards in another.
Brandon Brader carried 20 times for 119 yards to join Hoover as the first rusher-receiver tandem to hit triple figures in a game for Lock Haven since 2004.
