HEATH TOWNSHIP, JEFFERSON COUNTY – An Ohio man is facing arson charges for a fire that destroyed a mobile home on Aug. 19.

According to the state police in Ridgway, a fire marshal and the Sigel Fire Department investigated the scene on 2995 Pine Run Road where fire destroyed a 10 foot-by-50 foot mobile home, that also had an addition. Michael Valore of Aurora, OH was sleeping on the property in an adjacent structure when the fire occurred. The loss was estimated at $10,000.

As a result of the ongoing investigation, it was determined that Valore was not the property owner. Police said he informed them that he was the owner of the structure that burned. It was later determined that the property was owned by Robert and Reta Dunmire of Kittaning. The investigation also revealed that the fire was intentionally ignited.

Charges of arson, criminal mischief and recklessly endangering another person were filed in Brookville against Valore. He was captured by the Reminderville Police Department in Ohio on Sept. 6. He is awaiting extradition to Jefferson County.
