CLEARFIELD – The Clearfield Revitalization Corp. (CRC) hopes to unify its downtown with arts and crafts, food vendors and live entertainment during its first fall festival from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 8.

“We just felt downtown Clearfield needed something in the fall to bring people together,” said Brock Shaffer, a volunteer with the CRC promotions committee. The downtown will be decorated with fall foliage, such as cornstalks, pumpkins and straw bales for the event.

According to him, the CRC currently has more than 20 vendors for the first-ever festival. However, it hopes for additions over the upcoming weeks, and he said vendors could include non-profit organizations and church groups as well as individuals with home-made items.

A pair of local musical groups will perform on a flatbed truck at the corner of Third and Market streets. The Primer Greys are set to take the stage from 12 p.m. to 12:45 p.m. and again from 1:15 p.m. to 2 p.m. Jerry Schickling will perform from 3 p.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Vendors will set up along Market Street between Second and Third streets and along Third Street between Locust and Pine streets. Vendor fees are $20 for non-profit organizations and $25 for craft and food vendors without electricity access.

Any vendor requiring electricity must pay an additional $5, and their location must be along Third Street. Interested person(s) must complete a vendor application with the appropriate craft and food information and submit it to the Clearfield Revitalization Corp., P.O. Box 75, Clearfield, PA 16830.

Booths will be assigned on a first come, first serve basis until they are sold out. A space may be requested by a vendor, and if possible, it will be honored. All vendor spaces will be assigned the day of the festival during registration, which begins at 7:30 a.m. outside of the CRC office along Market Street.

Vendors may not set up prior to registration and must be set up by 9:30 a.m. Booth space measures 12-foot by 12-foot, and they will be set up directly down the yellow line in the middle of the street, facing the businesses. In addition, there will be more directly behind them, facing the opposite side of the street.

Businesses will be open and are encouraged to have sidewalk sales to participate in the festival atmosphere, Shaffer said.

Vendor applications must be postmarked no later than Friday, Sept. 16. For further information, please contact the CRC office by phone at 814-765-6000. E-mails may also be sent to crc.manager@gmail.com. Click here to access the vendor application for the event.

“We want to support and promote our downtown and hope people come to the 5K race in the morning but make a day of it as well,” Shaffer said.

“We want them to stay and walk the streets, enjoy the vendors and bands at the festival. It’s our hope to bring Clearfield closer together.”

Admission is free to the festival.
