Carolyn M. Taylor faces seven counts of intentional possession of a controlled substance by a person not registered, seven counts of theft by unlawful taking, seven counts of theft by unlawful taking, seven counts of theft by deception, seven counts of acquire or obtain possession of controlled substance misrepresent, seven counts tamper records or ID-writing and seven counts of receiving stolen property.
According to court records, police were called to Mt. Laurel Nursing and Rehabilitation Center for a report of a caregiver stealing fentanyl patches. Officer Michael Morris spoke with the staff, who stated Taylor had admitted to stealing a fentanyl patch.
Court records indicate that Morris talked to Taylor on the premise. She admitted to having a percocet problem. She reportedly told Morris that she had been eating so many that she developed stomach problems.
She told Morris that she started stealing the patches to get the narcotics without getting sick to her stomach. She told Morris that she had been taking a patch every six-10 days for a month-long period, totaling six-seven patches.
Morris reported that she allegedly obtained the patches from the drug locker by falsifying the dates that new drugs would be needed by residents.
