CURWENSVILLE – A motorcycle accident on Monday resulted in injuries to two people; one was flown to Altoona for treatment.
According to the state police in Clearfield, a 48-year-old State College man was traveling north on state Route 453, three miles south of Curwensville, when he lost control of his motorcycle after braking hard for an animal on the road. His passenger, Darlene Jury of State College, was thrown from the bike a short distance. The operator was also thrown from the bike a short distance.
The operator of the bike suffered unknown injuries at the time of the accident. He was flown from the scene by STAT MedEvac to Altoona Regional. Jury suffered minor injuries and was taken to Clearfield Hospital by ambulance.
Police were assisted at the scene by the Curwensville Volunteer Fire Company, Clearfield Emergency Medical Services, Curwensville EMS, STAT MedEvac and Simbeck’s Towing.
The operator of the motorcycle will be issued a citation for careless driving.
